Burning with Love in a World We Can’t Fix

  • Paz & Mente Institute Ibiraquera Brazil (map)

The title refers to the Mahayana Buddhist practice tradition of bodhicittathe Sanskrit term for awakening the heart.

With simultaneous translation and only 80 available sits for the open public retreat. We will offer transfer + accommodation and meals all included in the pack of the retreat. Besides the open public retreat with Lama Elizabeth, she will be teaching at the postgraduation group at Paz & Mente. This class is also possible for open public. Please contact the coordination.

The practice of awakening the heart (bodhicitta) is not a religious endeavor, but rather a first person exploration of what is possible when we begin to unfold our greatest human potential by stepping out of our habituated, fixated mindsets into a deeper understanding of the interdependence of all things. It provides direct and practical means for directly facing some basic human questions: How do we habituate our heart to stay open? How do we respond to the suffering we encounter in the world without getting overwhelmed or rigidly trying to fix it? What is the difference between fixing and healing? This practice also provides us with teachings on how to make an aspiration, how to work with difficult situations, how to deepen our insight through meditation, and how to develop genuine altruism.
